Governor NN Vohra, who visited the Gurez sector today, was briefed by the Brigade Commander, regarding the situation along the Line of Control.
The Governor was also briefed by Sajad Hussain Ganai, Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, and Sandeep Singh, SDM, Gurez, regarding the problems relating to the administration of the area which remain cut-off for nearly six months in the year.
The Governor, accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner, also visited the Kishan Ganga dam site and held discussions with Khalid Umer, Chief Engineer of the project, about the operational plans. He was told that all 143 families, displaced by the project, had been fully compensated and assisted in their rehabilitation.
