2 arrested in theft case

JALANDHAR: The Police Division 2 arrested two thieves involved in a theft case at a resident’s house in Aadarsh Nagar here.

The Police Division 2 arrested two thieves involved in a theft case at a resident’s house in Aadarsh Nagar here.

The accused have been identified as Harpreet Singh (25), a resident of Krishna Nagar, and Tavleen Singh, alias Smile, of Dhobhi Ghat.

The incident took place on February 13 and the owner of the house, Kumar, registered a case that two unknown people had taken away all jewellery and cash from a locker in his house. During the investigation, the police got a tip-off that the suspects were spotted in the area.

Hence, after a search, the police arrested both supects at a park in Aadarsh Nagar.

Gold jewellery, Rs 20,000 in cash and some foreign currency were recovered from the two suspects and they had been booked under Sections 457 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), said ADCP (investigation) PS Bhandal.
