A large number of people visited a wide range of stalls, stores, galleries and food courts on the final day of the End of the Season Sale festival organised by MBD Neopolis Mall yesterday here. It was a part of the Jalandhar Shopping Festival (JSF) in which various activities, including games, singing and dancing competitions, for the visitors were organised.

The 45-day-long shopping festival witnessed heavy footfall and the lucky winners in the special draw system were also awarded expensive gift items such as Activa, LED and washing machine, said a spokesperson for MBD group.

The success of the festival at the mall showed that the private sector could bring the country out of the economic mire, he added.

Apart from many people who won prizes, housewife Dolly Arora of GTB Nagar won Activa. Niharika Biala of Amritsar won an LED. Manish and Salman, both friends of Butta Mandi, won a washing machine and a dryer, respectively.

Dolly Arora said, “I came here for shopping but had no idea that any shopping festival was going on. I hardly spent for around Rs 2,000 and when I received an Activa, it was like a miracle happened. Earlier, I had no interest in these festivals. Now, I am eagerly waiting to participate in every such kind of festival organised in the town.”

Manish and Salman said, “It feels amazing when you get washing machine by just filling a voucher for bill of pizza. Our parents after listening to us could not believe their ears. They said now, we were all free to go for outings as after spending Rs 100, we brought a gift worth Rs 40,000 back home.”

“The visitors showed a keen interest towards the shoppers stop products in particular. A number of people, particularly students, attended the festival. The food court had witnessed heavy footfall. Fun and entertaining activities for the visitors was the major attraction, besides gifts and vouchers”, said Anshul Jain, Mall manager.
