70-yr-old raped by sister's grandson

A 70-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her sister’s grandson in a village here.

In a complaint filed with the Model Town police, the victim said she had gone to her sister's house while returning from a satsang. Since no one showed up there, she was about to return when her sister's grandson Nitish Kumar called her inside the house. He reportedly raped him and threatened her with dire consequences.

Sub Inspector Bharat Masih Laddhar, SHO, Model Town police station, said Sub Inspector Jasvir Kaur had recorded the statement of the victim and filed a case against the suspect under Sections 506 and 376 of the IPC.

Laddhar said the suspect was absconding and the police were conducting raids to arrest him.
