Hoshiarpur, May 17

Joining issues with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh over making the sedition law more strict in case his party, the BJP, retains power, the Dal Khalsa said the obvious target will be the religious minorities and Dalits, who refuse to follow the “Hindutva agenda”.

Party spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said, “Dal Khalsa is of the opinion that while vibrant and mature democracies have done away with sedition laws long back, the Modi dispensation is planning to make its provisions more draconian to snatch the people’s right to dissent and hold independent belief.”

He affirmed that the members of his organisation won’t participate in the election on May 19, terming the exercise as a mere charade and alleging the use of money, liquor, drugs and arms in the polls.
