Trucker gets 2-year jail in accident case

HOSHIARPUR: Additional District and Sessions Judge RK Khullar’s court on Tuesday sentenced a truck driver to two-year imprisonment with a fine of Rs 2,000 in an accidental death case of a resident.

Additional District and Sessions Judge RK Khullar’s court on Tuesday sentenced a truck driver to two-year imprisonment with a fine of Rs 2,000 in an accidental death case of a resident. If the penalty is not paid, the convict will have to undergo another month’s imprisonment.

On November 14, 2011, a motorcyclist had died in a collision between a bike and a truck near Dasuya. The Dasuya police had filed a case against the accused truck driver Kulwinder Singh, a resident of Maqsudan village in Jalandhar district on the statement of the family of the deceased.
