What is the show all about?

The show is a classic folk tale of Aladdin, which is packed with elements of light-hearted comedy, adventure, romance and a lot of drama.

What do you like about your character?

I have never attempted such type of a role. This is first time I am playing a warrior princess, Yasmin. It is a very powerful and interesting role.

How did you bag the role?

I got a call from the production house, Peninsula Pictures, and after my look test, I was selected for this role.

How does it feel to essay Princess Yasmin in the show?

I am on cloud nine and think it is an honour for me to be chosen for this role.

What is your equation with Sidharth Nigam,

your co-star?

Siddharth Nigam is a talented actor and best friend to work with. We learn from each other and are comfortable on the sets.

Which show would you consider a turning point in your career?

I got a lot of appreciation for Jhalak Dikhla Ja Season 5, where I performed with Taare Zameen Par star Darsheel Safary. The show did a lot for my career.

How do you find Mumbai and what do you miss most about Jalandhar?

Mumbai is different from our Punjab. I like sea and beaches here. In Mumbai, I miss

Punjabi food of Jalandhar, especially chane-bhature, daal makhni, and makki ki roti with sarson ka saag.

Is there any process that you go through to prepare for the role?

All actors of this show attended a workshop for two months. Before going to the shoot, I sit with my co-stars for a reading session.
