Around 3 pm, residents of Civil Lines, Ghumar Mandi, Ferozepur Road, were scared to hear loud chopper-like sound in their area. When they came out of their house, they saw a paramotorist hovering over the area. While many residents were confused to see the paramotorist, excited children started clicking photos with their phones. Many residents thought it was an exercise by intelligence agencies in view of the Pulwama terror attack.

Soon, they saw the paramotorist throwing pamphlets, advertising the opening of a school, Britannica International School, on Pakhowal Road.

Pooja, a domestic help, said she was cleaning the rooftop when she heard a loud noise in the sky. She looked up but couldn’t understand what the parachute-like thing hovering over the area was. She called out her master. The entire family rushed to the rooftop. “Initially, we thought some survey was being conducted in view of the Pulwama terror attack. But when we read a pamphlet thrown by the ‘flying man’, we got to know that it was an advertising exercise,” said Simpi, a home maker.

Meanwhile, children were too excited to watch the paramotor as they had seen such a thing only on television so far. “I saw it for the first time in real and wanted to fly like this man was doing,” said 10-year-old Amit.
