Ludhiana: A man was booked for committing fraud of Rs 5.75 lakh with a Lohara resident.



Ludhiana: A man was booked for committing fraud of Rs 5.75 lakh with a Lohara resident. In his complaint, Sukhwinder Singh said he had purchased a plot from the accused but the accused did not transfer the registry to him and never returned his money. The complainant later learnt that there was no plot on the name of the accused. A case under Section 420 of the IPC was registered against Manjit Singh of Lohara village at Daba police station.

Developer booked 

The police have booked the developer of an illegal colony. On the complaint of an official of the Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA), a case was registered against Sukhwinder Singh and Jatinder Singh for allegedly developing an illegal colony at Sahnewal Road without paying the change of land use charges, license fee and other payments to GLADA. A case under Section 36 of the Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act, 1995, was registered against the accused at the Focal Point police station. TNS

CISF jawan hangs self

Khamano: A jawan of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), who had come home on leave, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan after a quarrel with his wife.  The deceased have been identified as Sudagar Singh (34), a resident of Ladpuri village near Kheri Naudh Singh, near here. Sudagar was working in Delhi Metro on security duty and had come home for vacations.  According to the statement by the police, Shinder Kaur, mother of the deceased, gave information that his son's wife had been harassing him for past some time and on Sunday night, Sudagar committed suicide after a conflict with his wife.  Gagandeep Singh, SHO Kheri Naudh Singh, said the police had registered a case under Section 306 of the IPC against Neena Rani, wife of the deceased.  Meanwhile, the body of the deceased was handed over to his guardians after postmortem, said the investigating officer of the case. Sudagar Singh was supported by his two minor children, apart from his wife. OC
