Purchase machinery for paddy straw mgmt immediately, farmers urged

The Agriculture Department has urged farmers, who had submitted applications till August 24, 2018, to purchase machinery for management of paddy straw immediately. 

The department said in order to purchase it,  these applications would be rejected and machinery would be given to some other farmer or farmer society.

Agriculture Officer Hardev Singh said the department had sought applications from farmers or farmer societies for the purchase of machinery for the effective management of paddy straw. He said all applications received till August 24, 2018, had been approved.

The agriculture officer added that the applicants needed to get their bills of machinery verified by October 24 at the department's block offices or district Agriculture Department office. 

He appealed to the farmers to purchase their machinery and effectively manage paddy straw instead of burning it.
