Fire at MLA’s house

Ludhiana: Congress MLA from Ludhiana East, Sanjay Talwar, and his family members had a narrow escape after a fire broke out at his house in Ram Nagar near the CMC on Monday.  Talwar was standing outside the house and talking to some persons. He noticed smoke billowing out of the drawing room and found that the furniture, curtains, LED television were up in flames.  Talwar, his security personnel and others standing with him, sprung into action. He asked his family members to come out.  He, along with others, rushed and brought fire extinguishers and water buckets. Some others, including his neighbours, joined them and they managed to douse the flames by the time the fire tender reached the spot.  “A major fire was averted. Thankfully, I was still at home and we all managed to control the fire before the fire brigade reached. Else, it would have been worse,” he said. TNS
