Alumnus gives Rs 60 lakh for centre at IIT

NEW DELHI: An IIT-Kharagpur alumnus has contributed Rs60 lakh for a centre of happiness to be set up at the oldest IIT in the country.

An IIT-Kharagpur alumnus has contributed Rs60 lakh for a centre of happiness to be set up at the oldest IIT in the country.

The objective of the centre is to carry out research on happiness and positive psychology and develop industry-institute interaction for product development and training.

“Satinder Singh Rekhi has submitted a proposal for a centre to promote the science and practice of positivity for fostering meaningful life, happiness, well-being and holistic self-development,” MoS HRD Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
