The Congress on Monday tore into Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking if it was his hand behind the defamation suit junior minister for external affairs MJ Akbar filed against journalist Priya Ramani.

“Is there your hand behind MJ Akbar? We want to ask the Prime Minister on which side he stands. Is he with the women or against them? We’ve heard a defamation case has been filed against a journalist. Does the Prime Minister support this case?” Congress leader RPN Singh asked.

The Congress said brave women have recounted harrowing experiences and the PM refuses to say a thing about this.

“Now the junior minister has filed a defamation case against the accuser journalist and the Prime Minister remains silent. The Prime Minister has go speak up,” Singh said.
