Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said the government would never talk to any terror group that indulged in violence and killed innocent people. He asked the country’s youth to help the government in preventing violence in the country.
Addressing the valedictory function of the 19th National Youth Festival in Guwahati, Rajnath referred to the recent killing of over 70 Advasis allegedly by the NDFB-S terror group in Assam and said youth must raise their voice against such heinous crime against humanity.
“From now on, wards of the Central and the state governments will not talk to any group which has spread violence and killed innocent people,” Rajnath said. He said the Northeast was not cut off from the mainstream of India. “If Kashmir is the crown of India, Northeast is its strong arms. If any force tries to do harm to India, these strong arms will teach a good lesson,” he said lauding Union Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Sarbananda Sonowal for holding the 19th National Youth Festival in Guwahati.
He reminded the youth of the country of the key role they have to play in nation building. “It is a young India where 65 per cent of the population is below 35 years of age. You have to make India a super power. It was the youth of India who had got the country free from the colonial British rulers by making extreme sacrifices. The country remembers the sacrifices of martyrs such as Chandrasekhar Azad, Kanaklata Barua, Maniram Dewan, Kushal Konwar etc. who had laid their lives for the freedom we are enjoying today,” he said.
