Urging the Modi government to take up the issue of the proposed pilgrim fee with Pakistan at the earliest, Cabinet Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Monday said the Centre should bear the service charges, if these were not waived, to facilitate people wanting to pay obeisance at the historic gurdwara.

Lambasting the Akalis for trying to indulge in politics over a sacred matter, Randhawa dared both Sukhbir and Harsimrat to at least once prevail over Modi and get this atrocious fee removed.

“The Badal clan vociferously claims to be the custodians of the Sikh religion but when comes to fighting for the issues of the community they are the first ones to renegade.”

“If the Badals are what they claim to be, they should force the Centre to first get the fee scrapped or else make the Centre bear it,” he said.
