Taking cognisance of a news item “AAP MPs hold rally in government school, ‘violate’ model code” published in these columns on Tuesday, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Dharamkot sub-division Narinder Singh today issued a notice to the party over the violation and sought a reply within 48 hours.
The SDM stated that AAP leaders had got permission to hold a public rally at Varhe village in Dharamkot without specifying the location. He questioned the AAP leadership as to why they held the rally on the premises of a government school.
State AAP convener Bhagwant Mann and Faridkot MP Prof Sadhu Singh had held a public rally at a government school on Monday. Mann had come to campaign in favour of Prof Sadhu Singh, who is contesting from Faridkot.
