JeM ‘threatens’ to blow up rly stations in state

FAZILKA: Pakistan-based terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad has allegedly threatened to blow up several rail-way stations across the Punjab through a letter written to Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Ferozepur division.

Pakistan-based terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad has allegedly threatened to blow up several rail-way stations across the Punjab through a letter written to Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Ferozepur division.

In a hand written letter in Hindi received by the DRM office on September 18, JeM area commander Syed Ahmed stated that it would avenge the killing of Jehadis (militants) by exploding bombs at Ferozepur, Bathinda, Faridkot, Amritsar, Phagwara, Jalandhar, Patiala railway stations falling under the Ferozepur division on October 8.

The terrorist group also threatened to blast Devi Talab Temple, Jalalandhar, Golden Temple, besides warning to kill J&K Governor and Chief Minister of Punjab.

When contacted to comment on the letter, DRM Rajesh Aggarwal said, “We are always on alert and have informed the staff to be more vigilant. We have an input and are ready to deal with any eventuality.”
