China jails 45 on terror-related charges in Xinjiang

BEIJING: Forty-five people, including five arrested while attempting to join the East Turkestan Islamic Movement and the Taliban, have been given jail terms ranging from four years to life in China''s restive Xinjiang region for terrorism and human trafficking.

Three killed in shooting incidents in US

Houston: Three persons, including a policeman, were killed today in separate shooting incidents in the US, a day after a disgruntled gunman killed two TV journalists. Final MH17 report due October 13: Dutch investigators

The Hague: The final report into the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 over war-torn eastern Ukraine last year will be released in October 13, Dutch investigators said. "The Dutch Safety Board (OVV) informed relatives and the accredited representatives to the investigation that the board will publish the final report on the investigation into flight MH17 on 13 October 2015," the board said. Cameron honours Indian-origin adviser Gill with OBE

London: Ameetpal Gill, PM David Cameron's Indian-origin adviser and speech writer, is among two Indians who have been named in the list of Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) released on Thursday. Gill, 32, the Director of Strategy at 10 Downing Street, has been honoured with an OBE for public service as part of what is referred to as "Dissolution Honours" conferred by Queen Elizabeth II on the advice of the UK government.
