The star cast of upcoming Punjabi movie ‘Desi Munde’ today reached the city to promote their movie which is scheduled to hit the screens on October 21.
While interacting with the media, Punjabi singer-turned-actor Balkar Sidhu said the movie was about the story of unemployed village boys, who go abroad illegally. They sell their land and home to arrange funds to reach other country. Meanwhile, they are cheated by travel agents and were not able to get settled in foreign land.
He said the condition of such youths living in foreign countries had also been depicted in the movie.
He claimed that for 20 years, he had appeared in several video songs and now, after getting training in acting in Mumbai, he is playing the lead actor in his first Punjabi flick.
He said he had high expectations from the movie.
PS Purewal, the director of the film, said shooting of the movie had been done in beautifull locations of Phagwara, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr, Chandigarh, London and Southhall.
He said songs of the movie had been sung by Balkar Sidhu, Feroz Khan, while these had been written by Manpreet Tiwana, Raj Kakra, Nirmal Purewal, besides others.
