Chandigarh, January 27
The Chandigarh Golf Club (CGC) is going to the polls tomorrow with former presidents Birinder Singh Gill and Ravibir Singh Grewal vying for the top post. A total of 1,800 members are eligible to cast their votes.
The voting will start at 11am, after the annual general meeting, and will end at 4.30pm. The counting of votes for the post of president will be held after 5 pm tomorrow. The counting of votes will continue the next day for choosing the 11-member executive committee.
"High turnout of members is expected on the voting day. The registration of voters will end at 4.30pm, and the registered members standing in queue will be allowed to vote till 5pm," said GS Kochhar, co-chairman, media and publicity. The management has banned the entry of outsiders on the club premises on January 28 and 29.
