Chandigarh, January 18

In yet another case of online fraud, a city resident has been duped of Rs 2.78 lakh on the pretext of resolving his complaint with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

According to the police, Sahad Singh reported that a person, who introduced himself as Ravi Malhotra, called him in November last year and claimed that he is calling from SEBI.

The suspect claimed that the victim’s complaint with SEBI for refund from market captain, Indore, will be resolved in a few days.
