Patiala doc honoured in Bathinda meeting

PATIALA:Dr Sanjeev Bhagat, Head of the Department of ENT, Government Medical College, Patiala, won the Dr Ramesh Memorial Senior Consultant Paper Award at the 41st annual conference of the Association of Otolaryngologists of India, North-west zone in Bathinda.

Dr Sanjeev Bhagat, Head of the Department of ENT, Government Medical College, Patiala, won the Dr Ramesh Memorial Senior Consultant Paper Award at the 41st annual conference of the Association of Otolaryngologists of India, North-west zone in Bathinda.

Several ENT specialists from North India participated in the event. Dr Bhagat, along with Dr Dinesh Sharma, and Dr Ankur Mohan, presented a research paper on ear surgery in which bone cement was used to bridge the gap between bones of ear resulting due to diseases of the middle ear. “The technique helped in correcting the hearing loss and was cheaper than other materials,” Dr Bhagat said. 

“We will start cochlear implant surgery at Government Medical College, Patiala, once we get high-end microscope,” he added.— TNS
