Shot in the arm for Congress in Mohali

Mohali, August 3

The Congress here today received a shot in the arm after several families, including councillor Labh Singh’s family, from Mataur village joined the party.

City Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu welcomed these families into the party fold. Amrik Singh Somal, Senior Deputy Mayor, and Kuljit Singh Bedi, Deputy Mayor, were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu said these families joined the party due to the developmental policies of the Congress government in Punjab and the work being done by Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu in the Mohali constituency for the betterment of the area.

He said it was the Congress that truly respected its workers and put development policies at the forefront. He said people came to understand that opposition leaders were trying to mislead the people with their folly. Now, they were not going to listen to such leaders.

The Mayor said leaders of the opposition parties were only active when elections were near. They were nowhere to be seen in the constituency after the poll. Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu regularly visits the Mohali constituency and listens to grievances of residents and resolves them on time. — TNS
