Snatchers target 6-yr-old among 2 in city

CHANDIGARH: Snatchers targeted two persons, including a six-year-old child, in the city in the past 24 hours.

Snatchers targeted two persons, including a six-year-old child, in the city in the past 24 hours. According to the police, a resident of Sector 39 reported that she had taken her grandson, Kanish, to a park near her house on July 10.

The complainant’s grandson was holding a mobile phone and playing when a miscreant entered the park and snatched the phone.

The snatcher then ran towards a motorcycle where his accomplice was already waiting. Both miscreants escaped from the spot. The police were informed after which a case was registered at the Sector 39 police station.

In another incident, two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched a mobile phone from a Ram Darbar resident.

According to the police, Rahul Rawat, a resident of Ram Darbar, Phase II, was returning home on July 9 when the miscreants snatched his mobile phone near the Saini motor shop at Hallo Majra village. The police have registered a case at the Sector 31 police station.
