Mohali: The Balongi police have arrested two persons on charges of breaking the lock of a shop and stealing Rs80,000 from a cupboard, LEDs and other items. Rajpal Singh Gill, SHO, Balongi police station, said Anil Kumar and Mustafa, both residents of Balongi, were arrested and stolen goods recovered from them. An amount of Rs60,000, LEDs and other items have been recovered. TNS

Chandigarh: Thieves struck at a house in Sector 43. The complainant, Arun Kumar, stated that unknown person stole 14 silver coins and Rs20,000 from his house. A case has been registered. TNS

Thieves strike at Verka booth

Chandigarh: A theft was reportedly committed at a Verka booth near Maloya. The incident was caught on a CCTV camera installed near the booth. Sources said eatables were stolen from the booth. The police have initiated an investigation into the incident. TNS

Dengue: 4 new cases in Mohali

Mohali: Four new cases of dengue fever were reported from the district on Friday, taking the total count this season to 3,911. As many as 39 suspected dengue deaths have been registered in the district this year so far. TNS
