A local court has awarded 10-years jail term to a woman teacher for sexually abusing a 14-years-old boy who was taking tuition from her. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs10, 000 on the convict.
The police arrested the woman teacher in 2018 on a complaint filed by the boy’s parents. A case under Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered.
As per the prosecution the boy, a Class X student, and his younger sister started taking tuition from the woman in September 2017. The matter to came to the knowledge of the parents when the grades of the victim were dropped and they checked the mobile of the victim.
