‘Enforce ban on sale of syringes’

Punjab Pradesh Beopar Mandal (PPBM) demands prohibition on sale of medicines and syringes. Mandal president PL Seth said despite government banning the sale of syringes without prescription of medical practitioner, these are now being sold online without any check. He added in this way the the very purpose for which its sale was restricted on prescription gets bypassed. As a part of government’s programme against drug abuse, Amritsar police commissionerate along with psychiatrists and psychologists held a seminar in which residents also took part. Addressing the police officials Police Commissioner SS Srivastava called upon them to ensure personal safety while chasing and detaining addicts.

Deputy Commissioner KS Sangha in his address said the intensification of the campaign against drugs would at least prevent youngster from joining the curse. He exhorted all the sections of the society to work against drug addiction.
