Kumkum Bhagya actress Kirti Sualy says that while reels and YouTube can be entertaining, they lack the finesse of cinema and OTT. “My observation is that both of these concepts are relatively raw and although trending currently, these lack the production finesse that commercial content provides. Hence they will remain only as ‘instant’ entertainment and information mediums,” she says.
“Social media is an advertising tool, a platform on which you can reach out to people and let them know about your work, products and services. But not everyone is internet savvy and there are other sources from where they do keep themselves updated about the movie and television programmes. And the regular viewers are habitually in sync with the daily dose of entertainment content available to them. So, the question of people not noticing our work is not an insecurity I have.”
Talking about why everyone is making reels today, she says, “It’s an open forum, everyone is welcome to join in and express their views. There’s no harm. Some find success, whereas some don’t.”
