Mandi, July 5
Three people were killed and a person suffered serious injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident near Khaliyar on Pathankot-Mandi highway in the wee hours of Tuesday.
According to police, a carrier vehicle (Tipper) was on its way in the area, when it collided with the gate of a private building. It is stated that the door of the Tipper was not closed properly, which became the cause of the mishap.
The gate pillar fell on the cabin of the vehicle, resulting in the death of three people on the spot. The injured person has been shifted to the zonal hospital here, said the police.
Among the deceased are Rishav Kaushik of Mandi, Gurchain Singh of Punjab and Vinod Kumar of Bihar.
A case has been registered and investigation is under way.
