Shimla, September 11

The state registered 318 Covid cases today, taking the tally to 8,784, besides five deaths. The highest number of 73 cases were reported in Solan, followed by 57 in Kangra, 48 in Mandi, 38 in Una, 24 each in Shimla and Sirmaur, 20 in Hamirpur, 16 in Chamba, 12 in Bilaspur and six in Kullu. The number of active cases was 2,874.

24 cases in Sirmaur

Twenty-four cases were detected in Sirmaur district on Friday. Deputy Commissioner RK Pruthi, said 15 persons tested Covid positive in Nahan.

3 cops among 38 infected

Thirty-eight persons, including three policemen, tested positive for coronavirus in Una district. The policemen are posted at Chintpurni, and Haroli police stations and the Police Lines at Lalsingi village. Two migrant workers from Darbhanga in Bihar were also found infected.

73 test +ve in Solan

Seventy-three persons, including 40 in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh (BBN) industrial belt, tested Covid positive in Solan district on Friday. An accused, three policemen posted in the BBN belt, two employees of the Parwanoo branch of PNB, an employee of the Industry Department, Parwanoo, and two health workers were among those found infected.

Woman dies in Kangra

A 67-year-old woman from Paror with comorbidity died of coronavirus in Kangra on Friday, while 57 persons tested positive.
