Mystery shrouds death of US citizen in Dharamsala

Body of a US citizen has been found from a nullah in the upper Sakoh area of Dharamsala under mysterious circumstances, police said on Sunday.

As per the Superintendent of Police, they received information in the morning that a body was lying in a nullah. The dead was identified Raynold Shainey Harnez, a US citizen.

Raynold had married a woman residing in Kangra town. His wife Prishina Harnez had registered a missing complaint with the police in Kangra. She had alleged that her husband Raynold took her entire belongings, including passport, on April 21 and left the house and was not traceable since then.

Raynold's sister-in-law identified his body.

The SP said the body has been sent to Tanda medical college for post-mortem. The forensic team was also called to the spot from where the body was recovered. Anything on the reason behind the death can only be said after the post-mortem report comes, the police officer added.

The body was decomposed and was lying in the nullah for the past few days, he said.
