Dr Rajendra Prasad Govt Medical College,  Tanda, has been ranked among the top 35 medical colleges of the country as per survey conducted by a leading magazine.

This was stated by Dr Bhanu Awasthi, Principal of the institute.  He said the college had been ranked 35th across the country. He said  there were 500 colleges. Dr Bhanu said every year, the magazine survey ranked medical colleges on seven parameters, including infrastructure, academic excellence and governance. The All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, had been ranked first, he said.

Dr Bhanu has credited this achievement to the consistent efforts of the faculty of the institute backed by the strong will of the state government  to make this institution as one of the premier institutions. The government directed the college authorities to constitute a ranking committee to oversee the application for such surveys.

Earlier, in another survey,  the college got 19th rank.
