3 miscreants attack cop, snatch phone, cash

PHAGWARA: Three unidentified motorcycle-borne robbers attacked an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) and snatched his mobile phone, Rs 8,000 in cash, identity card, besides other valuables near Palahai village on Monday evening.

Three unidentified motorcycle-borne robbers attacked an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) and snatched his mobile phone, Rs 8,000 in cash, identity card, besides other valuables near Palahai village on Monday evening.

The victim, a resident of Pandori village, near here, is posted at the IG Office, Jalandhar.

He was returning to his village after duty on his scooter when the miscreants attacked him with sharp weapons and snatched the valuables and managed to escape from the spot, leaving him injured.

He was admitted to the local Civil Hospital. The police have registered a case under Sections 379B, 323, and 34 of the IPC.
