Ludhiana, July 12
The city police yesterday arrested four persons in separate cases and recovered drugs from them. A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act was registered against them.
In the first incident, the Ladhowal police nabbed a man and recovered 26 gm of heroin from his possession on Monday. The suspect has been identified as Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Rjapur, near Ladhowal.
Ladhowal SHO inspector Jasvir Singh said after getting a tip-off, the man was arrested from the specified place. He said now, a police remand of the suspect would be sought to bust the entire supply line.
In another case, the Moti Nagar police arrested Partap Singh of the Samrala Chowk area and recovered 750 intoxicating tablets on Monday. He was on the way to deliver the consignment of drugs to his clients. The police also launched a probe to know about big suppliers involved in the racket.
The Koom Kalan police arrested Manjit Singh of Bhaini Sahib and recovered 2 kg of poppy husk from his possession on Monday. ASI Dharmpal said further probe in the case would be initiated.
Meanwhile, the Focal Point had nabbed Rohit Kumar of Uttam Nagar, Focal Point, and seized one kg of ganja from him on Monday.
Investigating officer ASI Balaur Singh said the suspect had been selling drugs for a long time and now in further interrogation, more smugglers involved in the chain would be arrested.
