Ludhiana, June 20
A week-long blood donation camp organised by Mohandai Oswal Hospital to mark the World Blood Donation Day concluded yesterday.
The camp was supported by NGOs Waheguru Blood Sewa and Blood Sewa Family from Ludhiana.
Voluntary blood donation by the community is essential. A total of 50 units of blood was collected in this week to meet the blood supplies for hospital patients suffering from Thalassemia and critically ill patients. The management of the hospital; Dr Gurinderjit Singh Puri, medical superintendent and Yogendra Awadhiya, head, operations, expressed gratitude to all donors. All the guidelines issued by the Punjab State Blood Transfusion Council for donor, staff and patient safety were followed.
The donors were appreciated by the Chairman Jawahar Lal Oswal for their contribution to the noble cause of serving humanity. Dr KS Kwatra, Head, Pathology, Dr Ankur Mittal (Hemato-Oncologist) and Dr Preeti Joseph John (BTO) also participated in the camp.
