Ludhiana: After over a month-long investigation, the Ludhiana police claimed to have solved the cow slaughtering incident and arrested two accused by busting an inter-state gang. The arrested accused have been identified as Kalim Ahmad and Mohammad Rohan, both native of Uttar Pradesh, present residents of Bhamian Khurd here. Four accused, namely Aman, Ravi, Alim of UP and Iqbal of Delhi, are yet to be arrested in the case. Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, in a statement issued here, said the accused used to pick stray cows from roads and then kill them. Then they used to sell beef to their clients in Delhi. Bhullar said the police were told to deal all cases pertaining to cow slaughtering seriously and take immediate action against the accused. After the incident came to fore on November 24 when bovine parts were recovered from Jeevan Nagar, Hindu outfits had held a protest at Police Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner offices. Even road was also blocked by the protesters outside the CP office. TNS
