Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana, signed an MoU with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and the Central Institute of Post Harvest and Engineering Technology, (CIPHET), Ludhiana, for collaboration in teaching, research and extension activities for the welfare of livestock farmers of the state.
Dr Inderjeet Singh highlighted the importance of engineering in the livestock sector to improve the automation in dairy and poultry farms. He encouraged the engineers to develop low-cost buffalo milking machine and mechanical scrappers for cleaning in the dairy farms. Dr Singh emphasised on the role of engineering in small scale dairy and meat processing units. — TNS
