No new positive case in district

Ludhiana, April 4

No new Covid-19 positive case emerged in the district today. Meanwhile, two Mohali-based contacts of Covid-19 woman belonging to Shimlapuri have tested positive.

As a result, health officials are looking for family members, neighbours and staff at Fortis Hospital who came in contact with her.

The officials said the samples of the patient’s, son and daughter-in-law, had been taken whereas those of six persons, who came in contact with the patient, were taken in Mohali city.

To date samples of 236 suspected patients have been taken. Of which 227 were negative, five positive (four from Ludhiana and one from Jalandhar), while results of 36 samples are awaited.

Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga said 236 Rapid Response Teams are operational in the district to trace suspected patients.

He said screening of 466 patients has been done and 198 patients have been home quarantined.
