Ludhiana, June 29

The College of Fisheries, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), organised a national e-poster competition on ‘Time for Nature’ and ‘Impact of Covid-19 on Nature’ themes to mark ‘World Environment Day’. Every year, the day is celebrated to create public awareness for restoring environmental health to make the earth more green and clean for the present and future generations.

Owing to the crisis created by Covid this year, online entries were invited from students of agricultural and veterinary universities of the country.

As many as 82 entries were received from 46 colleges of 17 states across the country, reflecting unfeigned concerns of young minds towards environmental issues, especially global warming, pollution and over-exploitation of resources.

The posters were screened by event coordinators based on the pre-designed criteria, such as imposition of theme, clarity of ideas, colour combination complimenting the themes and inclusion of a symbolic message.

Dr Shanthanagouda, Dr Rajinder Kaur and Dr Jitendra Kumar of College of Fisheries coordinated the event. — TNS
