Parkash Singh Badal's 'special chair' missing

Parkash Singh Badal

Muktsar: During the SAD-BJP government, whenever Parkash Singh Badal toured his home turf Lambi, he used to sit in two ‘special chairs’ made by a former SHO of the Lambi police station. These were mostly used in sangat darshan programmes. However, after the change of guard in 2017, he could not use those. Notably, the chairs were kept at the Lambi police station. Broad and perfect for Badal’s height, the chairs were bent from the front, making those more comfortable.

Now that the elections are at the bend, locals want politicians to rake up the issue to bring the hospital back to the heart of the city. But, no leader is willing to play ball. The issue is not on their agenda as it no longer remains a vote-catching issue.

Gurdaspur Civil Hospital has been shifted to the outskirts of the city.
