Bathinda, January 16
Lashing out at the state government, Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu today said the state debt was mounting by Rs 80 crore every day due to ‘wrong policies’ of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab. He said political parties only sell lies to people.
Talking to mediapersons at Mehraj village, former Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Sidhu said he did not fight for positions, his fight was to save Punjab.
The former PPCC chief said he was not creating a rift in the Congress, but making efforts to unite Punjab. Sidhu said, “If there is any statement against the Congress, the high command should take action. People who came to the rally in large numbers are the answer to the fact that Sidhu is uniting the people for the Congress.”
Questioning Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Sidhu said the AAP leader should answer why is running away from the ED investigation.
Sidhu said he always chose Punjab and worked for its betterment. Regarding an alliance with the AAP in the Lok Sabha elections, he said the final decision will be taken by the high command.
On youth migrating to foreign countries in a large number, he said there should be serious deliberations on this issue. The former PPCC chief said youngsters are also taking cores of rupees out of Punjab with them.
In a response to a question about the ‘Punjab Bachao Yatra’ being carried out by the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), Sidhu said the SAD should save its self and then it should think about Punjab.
