Yachika, a seven-year-old girl from Bibipur village in Jind district has launched a campaign
“# Thank you Prime Minister” to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for launching ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP)’ campaign to ensure girl child literacy.
In a video message released on social media, Yachika appealed the girls to thank the Prime Minister on June 20 (Fathers’ Day).
Modi had launched the national-level BBBP campaign from Panipat on January 22, 2015 to address the declining sex ratio and for education of girls in the country during the first regime of the BJP- led Central government.
The campaign has completed its six years and sex ratio in the state has improved over this period, she said.
Yachika in her video message appealed to girls in Haryana and other states to send messages thanking the Prime Minister on June 20, and continue this for next 10 days.
She said girl children could send their message on Internet by using various social media platforms. She said those who did not use the Internet could send thank you letters to the Prime Minister with the help of their parents.
Notably, Yachika is the daughter of Sunil Jaglan, who had started the campaign ‘Selfie with daughter’ to save the girl child from Bibipur village of Jind district, in 2015.
