A galaxy of eminent Punjabi singers was present on the occasion. Singers Satinder Sartaj, Manmohan Waris, Kamal Heer, Lakhwinder Wadali, Sarbjit Cheema, Nirmal Sidhu, Dalwinder Dyalpuri and Anadi Mishra regaled the audience in a cultural programme in which students and youths enjoyed songs in honour of the Punjabi language.

Organised by the Punjab Jagriti Manch’s Satnam Manak and Deepak Bali as well as Dubai-based hotelier SPS Oberoi, the march features a reintroduction of the youth to their roots through the culture and songs of Punjab. The platform is among the advocates vouching for a Punjabi popular culture which should be free of lewd and bawdy songs as is the norm.
