Commemorating the birth anniversary of 10th Guru of Sikhs and founder of Khalsa Panth Sri Guru Gobind Singh, a grand nagar kirtan was organised by the Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society(CKDCS).
It started with the Ardas performed by Ardaasia Singh of Sri Harmandir Sahib Bhai Rajbir Singh. Singh Sahib Sri Harimandir Sahib Giani Jagtar Singh threw light on the life Sri Guru Gobind Singh and initiated the religious procession.
A large number of teachers from all schools and colleges of CKDCS, Sikh scholars and other social personalities also participated in the religious procession. The Nagar Kirtan was led by ‘Panj Piyaras’ followed by the ‘Sawari Sahib’ of the sacred Sri Guru Granth Sahib which was beautifully decorated with flowers along with ‘Nishan Sahib.’
The major attraction of the procession was the display of ‘Gatka’ a famous Sikh martial art form. Refreshment stalls were installed in the school and enroute. The procession was marked by the rendering of holy Shabad Kirtan by the music teams of various CKDCS schools. The whole atmosphere was filled with spirituality and Bhakti Ras which enthralled all the devotees. Guru Ka Langar was served to all staff and students.
Officiating president Dhanraj Singh congratulated the sangat on the occasion. Harminder Singh, member in charge and principal-director Dr Dharam Veer Singh were present on the occasion.
