Nishan-e-Sikhi Institute of Science and Training, Khadoor Sahib, organised its maiden alumni meet of candidates who joined as Army officers after receiving coaching from here for their NDA exam. The event was held on Saturday. The NDA training was started in 2015 under Baba Sewa Singh, head of the Kar Sewa sect, Khadoor Sahib.
Lt General (retd) GS Cheema was the chief guest and Lt General (retd) NS Bawa was the special guest. The chief guest advised the candidates to be always positive to achieve success in life. He also shared his experiences for selection in the NDA exam.
Flight Lieutenant Adesh Partap Singh and other alumni candidates, in their respective address, called upon new students of the institute not to get swayed (josh nal hosh na ganvao). They said that sincere efforts and the curiosity to achieve one’s goal never go waste in life. The Army officers who cleared their NDA exam after taking coaching from here spoke of their association with the institute. The other Army officials who addressed the gathering included Major General (retd) RS Chhatwal, Col Gurmeet Singh, Col (retd) Balwinder Singh, Director of the Nishan-e-Sikhi, Baba Baldev Singh and Harnandan Singh.
Baba Sewa Singh, patron of the institute, urged retired Army officers to visit and guide the candidates receiving coaching at the institute. The guests were honoured by the organisers.
The candidates taking coaching from the institute presented a colourful cultural programme. The 15 students who cleared the NDA written exam were also honoured beside cadets who joined the NDA as officers.
