Palliative care course begins



Amritsar: Sri Guru Ram Das (SGRD) University of Health Sciences in collaboration with National Association of Palliative Care for Ayush and Integrative Medicine (NAPCAIM) and Cancer Aid Society has launched the Punjab Chapter of NAPCAIM. A virtual inaugural ceremony of the event was held on the university campus. Dr Moe Abdo, chief operating officer of Fight Cancer Global, USA, was present on the occasion. Dr Daljit Singh, VC, SGRD University, said the aim of the course was to alleviate the sufferings of chronically ill patients as well as cancer patients through the integration of modern medicine with Ayush. “The university will train and offer certificate courses in palliative care to all doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff including Ayush practitioners,” he said. Dr Moe Abdo attended the event through videoconferencing. TNS
