The Education Department has adopted a strict approach when it comes to updating e-Punjab school web portal. The education secretary, Punjab Government, has asked the district education officer to instruct private schools to update record of students on e-Punjab school web portal.
As per senior officials of the Education Department, the district is lagging in the task of updating information on the e-Punjab school portal. So far, schools have not updated Aadhaar Card details (UID) on e-Punjab school portal.
District education officer (DEO) Satinderbir Singh issued instructions to private, government aided, and government schools to update the UID details of students on the portal today.
The DEO said, “Private schools have not submitted the UID card details of students while updating data of 2016-17 on the portal. That is why graph of Amritsar to update the portal is behind other districts. Secretary, education, and Deputy Commissioner have directed institutions to update details on e-Punjab school.”
The DEO has also asked schools to inform his office after completion of the task.
“It is important task and Principals will be responsible for negligence,” added the DEO.
It is pertinent to mention here that the ePunjab school web portal is online software, which has been implemented in all schools of the state. The portal helps in managing information related to students, teachers, school infrastructure, attendance and grievances. The information is updated every month by the school authorities. It provides data to the Education Department on one link, which helps officials to take decision regarding any policy.
