Valmikis protest Valtoha’s remark on Dr Ambedkar

Tribune News Service

Amritsar, July 16

Members of various Valmiki organisations burnt an effigy of Chief Parliamentary Secretary (CPS) Virsa Singh Valtoha here alleging that his comments on Dr BR Ambedkar had pained the community.

They demanded that an FIR against Virsa Singh Valtoha should be registered for tarnishing the image of Ambedkar.

The protest witnessed participation of activists of Kendri Bhagwan Valmik Temple, Bhagwan Valmik Tirath Parbandak Committtee, Dalit Surakha Sena and others.

Activists also demanded that the government should register a case against Rakhi Sawant for using derogatory language against Maharishi Valmiki.

Kendri Bhagwan Valmik Temple president Yograj Malhotra said the government should take action at the earliest. He said the community would launch an agitation if the government failed to respond to their demands.
