‘1984 Stores’ to help riot victims

NEW DELHI:The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee will set up department stores under brand name “1984 Stores” in all 10 gurdwaras of the national capital for economic empowerment of the survivors of the anti-Sikh riots.

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee will set up department stores under brand name “1984 Stores” in all 10 gurdwaras of the national capital for economic empowerment of the survivors of the anti-Sikh riots.

The stores will be a one-stop shop for grocery items, articles of Sikh faith and religious literature. “These will ensure livelihood to thousands of victims of the 1984 ‘genocide’,” DSGMC chief Manjinder Sirsa said, adding the stores will follow co-operative society model. — TNS
