10 booked in two gang-rape cases

TARN TARAN: The police have booked 10 persons in two incidents of gang-rape.

The police have booked 10 persons in two incidents of gang-rape. According to information, the police booked six persons on charge of raping a mentally retarded 19-year-old girl. The accused have been identified as Gursewak Singh, Buta Singh, Mandip Singh, all resident of Shahbazpur, and Akash Singh, Sajan Singh and Lovepreet Singh of Khabbe Rajputan.

The accused had clicked her nude photos and threatened to circulate on social media. The accused allegedly raped her between December 12, 2018 and April 9, 2019. SP Raurav Toora investigated the matter and submitted the inquiry report to the local Sadar police. The police have registered a case under Section 376-D of the IPC. The accused are absconding, the police said.

In another incident, the Patti police have booked four persons on charge of raping a girl. The accused have been identified as Vivek Kumar, Raj Kumar, Ranjit Singh and Parminder Singh, all resident of Patti. On October 2, the accused entered the house of victim and raped her. They detained her parents in a room, the police said. The accused are absconding.
